Service Patch

The Service Patch is a volunteer-run community garden whose produce is donated to local food pantries and shelters. Through the garden, community volunteers from diverse backgrounds are engaged in growing food that’s donated to pantries and shelters and used to cook community meals. The garden also hosts educational programming and community events open to the public.

In 2011, over 300 volunteers contributed 375 hours to plant, maintain, and harvest the garden. Over 180 pounds of food were grown and donated!

Interested in hosting a lesson at the garden? We need volunteers to lead lessons on a wide range of topics - click here for more info!

The Service Patch Community Garden is a project facilitate by the Volunteer Center and United Ames.
