AmeZone
AmeZone is a service-learning group open to Story County youth in grades 6-12. Members plan service-learning projects that address community needs, and in the process focus on building community and leadership skills. The group meets every other week to investigate needs, plan and implement service-learning projects, and reflect on their experiences. Past projects include volunteering at Emergency Residence Project, planning a block party, and creating a community garden called the Service Patch that was entirely volunteer run and donated over 500 lbs. of food to local pantries and shelters. AmeZone is facilitated through a partnership by the Volunteer Center of Story County and United Ames. |
